Green energy (Toulmin's Model)

TOULMIN'S MODEL OF ARGUMENTATION

Claim:-

Green energy is the future, preserving the environment better than now.
Green energy reduces the use of fossil fuels removing our dependencies on them.

Grounds:-

Green energy comes from various natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, plants, and geothermal heat. These all are renewable sources of energy, meaning they are naturally recharged. Green energy yields hundreds of promising new technologies that can reduce our dependence on coal, oil, and natural gas

Warrant:-

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), green energy provides the highest environmental benefit and includes power produced by solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, low-impact hydroelectric, and certain eligible biomass sources. The source of green energy also has a very less impact on the environment than fossil fuels. Also, fossil fuels are obtained by mining. Mining of fossil fuels produce pollutants such as greenhouse gases as a by-product, contributing to climate change. Fossil fuels impact general health, and causing respiratory issues, and reducing life expectancy.

Backing:-

Green energy utilizes energy sources that are readily available all over the world, including in rural and remote areas that don't otherwise have access to electricity. Advances in renewable energy technologies have lowered the cost of solar panels, wind turbines, and other sources of green energy, placing the ability to produce electricity in the hands of the people rather than those of oil, gas, coal, and utility companies. Green energy can replace fossil fuels in all major areas of use including electricity, water, and space heating, and fuel for motor vehicles.

Qualifier:-

Green energy represents a great asset for our planet because it can be used to generate clean electricity and heat without polluting the environment. The technology used today to harness the sources of green power available on the planet have low efficiency, and this is the reason why we need to wait a few more decades until technology will improve to generate much more clean energy than today. We can’t stop burning fossil fuels even if we know that we are polluting the environment until we don’t have a viable source of green power that can cover the entire demand for electricity on the planet. The future is green, renewable, and also sustainable, which means that the future generations will inherit from us an environment that is healing after more than a century of heavy pollution of the air, water, and soil.

Rebuttal:-

While environment-friendly living is a positive idea, green energy also possesses some disadvantages due to the high costs of its technologies, no knowledge of its proper implementation and its outcomes. Also, the policies may not be green technologies friendly.

Scientific Inquiry: Invention and Test (Toulmin's Model)

TOULMIN'S MODEL OF ARGUMENTATION Claims:- Scientific inquiry is a long and time-consuming process with forming hypotheses, testing predictions and an interdisciplinary search. The searchers for truth cannot remain confined to a single discipline. Grounds:- Ignaz Semmelweis , a Hungarian physician, searched for the cause of  childbed fevers which caused four times more death in his ward compared to others.  Dr. Semmelweis examined some hypotheses while trying to find the actual cause of the death.  He had formulated many hypotheses on the subject and tested each of them .Through his continuous effort testing out the assumptions, he found the answer in 4 years from 1844 to 1848. Warrant:- Hypotheses gives new ways and directions to a researcher. Testing hypotheses drops out irrelevant facts from study. Semmelweis’ testing of  hypotheses lead him to the truth. In 1847, accidentally, Dr. Semmelweis’ colleague Kolletschka received a small wound in the finger from the...
